Great Streets Planning Grant Presentation

The City of Lebanon recently applied for a Great Streets Planning Grant to address specific concerns with the downtown area of St. Louis St. We were fortunate to be 1 of 3 communities to be awarded the fully funded $100,000 planning grant. This grant allowed us to work with the East-West Gateway Council of Governments, i5Group, SWT Design, CBB, IDOT, and the representatives from the other 2 communities, Belleville and Grantfork to address our concerns.  This workshop was a huge opportunity for us as a small community to work with the best in their fields at no cost to the city. The attached proposal is all conceptual. These are ideas of things that could be done, anything on here would need a deeper dive before actual work would be done to make sure it is feasible, aligns with our ordinances, adheres to the National Historical Registry guidelines, and is what our community wants. This is a jumping-off point for us to start the conversation with the community to find out what you would like our future to look like. We will also be able to use this plan and your input as we pursue more grants for this downtown brick street area. Please take a moment to look over the plan that was presented to the public June 24th and if you would like to share your thoughts you are welcome to email them to adminasst@lebanonil.org or accountant@lebanonil.org, come to any city council meeting held on Monday nights starting at 6:30 pm, or keep an eye out for more public forum meetings.

*The city of Lebanon is always looking for new grants we would be eligible for and have a chance to win. Grants are specific to use and location which is why the downtown brick street was the chosen venue for this particular grant.*
